Middletown citizens are always eager to lend a helping hand.

Thanks to all the dedication and devotion , Middletown Iowa's  family and friends can gather together at the NEW shelter house by the playground , Jack Drulis Frisbee Golf Park and the annual event called  Old Plank Road Days to enjoy what a wonderful community we really do have!
We’d like to extend a warm hand and thank you for taking the time to visit US online. 

 

Middletown History Is Important to Preserve!

 

We would like to form a group that would be interested in collecting, labeling, and preserving significant pictures, news articles, and journals. Old bank books, business receipts, written memories, or items of interest to the history of Middletown. If you or a former resident has anything related to the past of Middletown and would like to donate it or have copies made we would be most appreciative. Anything can be brought or sent to City Hall or email pictures to webmaster@middletowniowa.com to be added to the historical section of the website as well. If you would like to be part of this group contact us at webmaster@middletowniowa.com . Perhaps someday we can develop a historical display or a museum of sorts.

Growing concerns in the housing and financial market may have deterred some of the building projects this year, but lot sales increased by 13%. At this time next

year, look for an increase of about 24% from $38000 in 2007 from lot sales and a 75 – 80% increase from $130,495 in 2007 from combined value of building permits issued. These figures are based on the future success of the Mutual Self-Help Housing Program, which is sponsored by Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission.

Do you have a friend or know someone that is thinking of moving towards the outskirts of Burlington to get away from the hustle and bustle, or someone who is tired of the commute and would like to live closer to Burlington, but not in it? This program may be for them. Please see the ad above for more details. I think there will be some

surprises next year, and I think that Middletown will be an exception to the housing market woe.
